New Hope Restaurant's Cheesecake Named 1 Of PETA's Top 10 Vegan Treats
Sprig & Vine earned a stamp of approval for animal rights and yumminess, making it onto the list of Top 10 Vegan Sweet Treats in the U.S.
NEW HOPE, PA — A local New Hope bakery has taken the cake in a PETA ranking determining which desserts are the most delicious — and the kindest to animals.
Sprig & Vine's Cashew Cheesecake was named one of the Top 10 Vegan Sweet Treats in the U.S. this year, according to a news release from PETA. The cheesecake features a ginger-cashew-oat crust, and is served with vanilla-coconut whipped cream and blueberry ras el hanout coulis.
Sprig & Vine offers other seasonal cheesecake flavors throughout the year, according to the release, including a kabocha squash flavor and a Meyer lemon flavor with a chamomile syrup.

Other desserts for February include a tiramisu with bourbon-chocolate coffee sauce, a flourless almond-black cocoa torte, and a cranberry linzer tart with blood orange ice cream and ginger-maple syrup.
“Sprig & Vine’s Cashew Cheesecake has won our hearts by spreading love to cows and hens,” PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said. “All the eateries on PETA’s list prove that it’s as easy as vegan pie to dish out delicious treats that are also sweet to animals this Valentine’s Day.”

PETA also said that consumer demand for vegan food has skyrocketed — the vegan food market grew two and a half times faster in 2021 than it did between 2018 and 2020, and it’s expected to reach $22 billion by 2025, according to the release.
Other winners on PETA’s list include HaleLife Bakery, with locations in Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and Tampa, Florida; Jalen’s Bakery in Fresno, California; and Sweet To Lick in Williston Park, New York.
Each winning shop will receive a framed certificate from PETA.
Whole desserts, or slices of cheesecake, can be ordered a minimum of 48 hours in advance from Sprig & Vine by calling the restaurant at 215-693-1427.
