Residents who were curious about the commotion outside Village II Wednesday might be surprised to learn the reason: a parrot rescue.

NEW HOPE, PA — A grey parrot who'd been missing for several days was successfully returned to her home Wednesday after someone spotted her in a tree outside the entrance to Village II.

The New Hope Police Department, the New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company, the bird's owner, and "an experienced tree climber from Solebury's road crew" banded together to coax her from her tree perch.

"It took a few tries but the team was successful, and with the help of the bird's owner, all ended well," the fire company wrote online.
