NEW HOPE, PA — For the first time in several years, the New Hope-Solebury School District has initiated a call for nominees to its Hall of Fame.

The district's Hall of Fame recognizes people who have "brought honor" to New Hope-Solebury with service or professional performance in their chosen field.

Those eligible are alumni who graduated at least five years ago, and district employees or community members who were last employed or serving the district at least three years ago.

“In my many years in education, a school’s Hall of Fame has always been an important celebration of the school community and an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate those who have had a positive impact, both within our district and around the globe," said Dr. Charles Lentz, the district's superintendent. "We are delighted to reinvigorate this tradition to share the accomplishments of our alumni and to recognize the dedicated service of our staff and community members."

The school district launched its Hall of Fame in 2002, with the induction of then board president Hardy Bush. Those recognized since included administrators, teachers, students, and community members.

Some, like Bob "Pop-Pop" Heath Sr., who documented school athletic competitions, remain active in the community today. The most recent inductee was his son, former board member Bob Heath, Jr., in 2018.

Patrick Sasse recently joined New Hope-Solebury High School as its new principal, and said he is excited to support the effort.

“We plan to recognize inductees during our Senior Awards Night, and I look forward to sharing their impact alongside our graduates’ many achievements and acts of service for the New Hope-Solebury community," he said.
