NEW HOPE, PA — The popular New Hope-based Soulberry Natural Market is teaming up with the Kin Wellness and Support Center in Buckingham as Kin's official food program sponsor.

In addition to providing free local, organic healthy food to power Kin's Food Program, Soulberry will whip up quarterly cooking demonstrations spotlighting a local chef who will prepare a healthy and delicious dish in front of a live audience comprised of cancer patients and their caregivers.

Everyone in attendance, usually between 15 and 20, will have the chance to sample the dish and leave with the recipe and a bag filled with the raw ingredients used in the cooking demo, allowing them to replicate the meal at home.

Each cooking demonstration will also feature a nutritionist or dietitian who will provide color commentary and share shopping and cooking tips, along with healthy substitutions for each dish.

“This program is one of the most popular at Kin," said Keith Fenimore of Kin. "People are eating, learning and socializing. These cooking demos often double as a date night for our guests who don’t get out due to their treatment and recovery. This program would cease to exist without Soulberry’s support. We can’t thank Ameer, Brittany and their amazing staff enough!”

Soulberry Market is owned by husband and wife team, Ameer and Brittany Yassin. They are very community-focused and have had a Kin collection jar at their register for the last three years.

"At Soulberry Market, one of our greatest motivations has always been the opportunity to support our local communities. That’s why we are thrilled to work with Kin," shares co-owner Brittany Yassin. "Kin is a vital resource to our community, and the work that they have done to help individuals along their cancer journeys is truly invaluable. Their mission and services resonate deeply with our values at Soulberry Market and we are honored to partner with them and help support their incredible work as the official sponsor of their food program.”

The first cooking demo under the new partnership will be held in late February or early March. Also in March, the market will launch a month-long round-up campaign dedicated to Kin as a way to raise the funds to sustain the program.

The food program at Kin was previously sponsored by Organnons Natural Market in Wrightstown.

“Organnons Natural Market was an amazing partner and as they pass the torch to Soulberry we want to thank Jim and his staff for donating thousands of dollars of food over the last three years and helping us take care of the cancer community in an amazing way,” said Kristina Fenimore.

In the past, Kin’s cooking demos have featured executive chefs from The Rooster & The Carrot Cooking Studio, Ardana Food and Drink, The Green House of New Hope, The Good Gyro, Millie’s Brunch and Coffee, and many others.

"As a hyper-local focused non-profit, Kin encourages people to shop local and support Ameer and Brittany's amazing market. When the Bucks County community supports them, they can carry that support through to Kin and our local cancer community," said Keith Fenimore.
