Solebury Voters To Weigh In On Open Space Referendum
On Election Day, voters in Solebury will decide if they want the township to borrow up to $12M in additional funds for open space.

SOLEBURY TOWNSHIP, PA — Voters in Solebury will soon decide if they want the township to borrow additional money for open space. The Solebury Township Supervisors in September approved an open space bond referendum on the Nov. 5 ballot.
If approved by the public, the township will borrow up to $12 million to finance the acquisition of interests in or improvements to property for open space purposes.
Each of the four previous open space referendums in Solebury was approved by at least 87 percent of voters, according to information from the township.

The township has said the additional borrowing would occur over a span of years.
"It has been estimated that under current conditions, the next $5 million of borrowing by the Township for open space purposes would increase taxes for the average Solebury Township household by about $50 per year. That figure is subject to change based on market conditions," the township said on its website.
