11 Classic Films Coming To Newtown Theatre: See Full Schedule
Some great classic films will be screened at the Newtown Theatre this year, including "Apocalypse Now" and "Veritgo." Full schedule here:
NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Theatre will screen 11 classic films in new series set to begin on Jan. 10.
The series, which will showcase an array of highly acclaimed films, will kick off with a showing of “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,” a 1967 drama-comedy. The film stars Spencer Tracy, Sidney Poitier, Katharine Hepburn and Katharine Houghton.
Other films included in the series are "Moonstruck" in February "A League of Their Own" in June and "Apocalypse Now" in July.

- “Moonstruck” (1987) – Feb. 7, 7:30 p.m.
- “Tootsie” (1982) – March 6, 7:30 p.m.
- “Bye Bye Birdie” (1963) – April 17, 7:30 p.m.
- “It Happened One Night” (1934) – May 1, 7:30 p.m.
- “A League of Their Own” (1992) – June 5, 7:30 p.m.
- “Apocalypse Now” (1979) – July 10, 7:30 p.m.
- “An American in Paris” (1951) – Aug. 14, 7:30 p.m.
- “Vertigo” (1958) – Sept. 11, 7:30 p.m.
- “Hoosiers” (1986) – Oct. 2, 7:30 p.m.
- “The Big Sleep” (1946) – Nov. 6, 7:30 p.m.
Newtown Theatre member Cheryl Harris will offer a 10-minute introduction before each film. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the theatre before each movie.

Tickets for all films are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, $8 for children 12 and younger, and $6 for theatre members.
