3 Drivers Arrested For Suspected DUI In Newtown Township: Crime Report
During a traffic stop in Wrightstown, police seized a weapon, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between July 26 and 31:
July 26
- At approximately 2:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Dodge pick-up truck for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Sycamore Street and Swamp Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver refused to submit blood for chemical testing. Charges are pending.
July 27

- At approximately 12:45 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Honda Accord for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Campus Drive. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
July 29
- At 10:35 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Ford Explorer for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Buck Road and Mill Pond Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
July 31

- At 9:30 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a BMW SUV for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Durham Road and Windy Bush Road in Wrightstown Township. As a result of the investigation, a weapon, suspected narcotics, and drug equipment were discovered and seized as evidence. The male driver was arrested by police with charges pending.
