5 DUI Arrests, Lululemon Retail Theft Reported In Newtown Township
In other reports, police filed a criminal complaint for a commercial burglary in Wrightstown and investigated an incident of fraud.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Dec. 20 and Dec. 26:
December 20
- At approximately 12:45 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Kia Optima for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Swamp Road and Twining Bridge Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
- At approximately 1:15 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Ford pick-up truck for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Municipal Drive and Durham Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
- At approximately 6:45 p.m. police were dispatched to a single-vehicle traffic accident into a utility pole. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver refused to submit blood for chemical testing. Charges are pending.
December 23

- As a result of an investigation, criminal complaints were filed for two male subjects in connection with a commercial burglary that occurred in Wrightstown on November 14.
- A Wrightstown Township resident contacted police at 1:35 p.m. to report a fraud involving false pretenses. The incident was referred to the detective division for further investigation.
December 24
- At approximately 12:45 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Chevrolet Avalanche for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Alexanders Court and Windy Bush Road in Wrightstown. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
December 26

- Police were dispatched to Lululemon around 1:30 p.m. for the report of a retail theft. The total value of loss was approximately $2,000. The investigation is ongoing.
- At approximately 9:30 pm police were dispatched to a single-vehicle traffic accident in the area of Wrights Road in Wrightstown Township. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
