6th Graders Drop By Police Headquarters In Newtown Bearing Gifts
The six students from Newtown Elementary pooled their allowances to make the season brighter for the local officers.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —Over the holiday break, a group of generous sixth graders from the Newtown Elementary School showed up at Newtown Township police headquarters bearing gifts.
The students decided to combine their allowance money to purchase a Pop-A-Shot Basketball Game and a Nerf football for the officers to use during break time.
"They’ve seen the officers at the school often and wanted to do something to say thank you," said one of the youngster's mom who reached out to the police department to schedule the visit.

"The police were so kind and patient with them. They gave them a full tour of the station and even had a football catch with them at the end, which the boys loved," said the mom.
The police department posted a photo of the kids delivering the gifts to the station and expressed appreciation to the students for thinking of them during the holiday season.
