Bucks Lawmaker Named Chair Of PA House Insurance Committee

HARRISBURG, PA – State Rep. Perry Warren, D-31, has been appointed the chairman of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Insurance Committee by Speaker Joanna McClinton.

The announcement followed the swearing-in of members of the Pennsylvania House, marking the beginning of the 2025-26 legislative session. Warren, who is in his fifth term representing the 31st District, brings a wealth of experience to the new leadership role.

“Representative Warren has served as a valuable member of the Insurance Committee for several years, and as its new chairman he will bring his thoughtful and collaborative approach to advancing policies that best serve our neighbors and our communities,” McClinton said. “His experience and leadership make him well positioned for chairman of the House Insurance Committee.”

In his new role, Warren will oversee the legislative work of the Insurance Committee, which plays a key role in shaping the state's insurance laws, ranging from consumer protections to industry regulations. Warren's background as a private practice attorney will help the committee navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead as it looks to foster a competitive, fair and transparent insurance marketplace for Pennsylvanians.

“I’m honored by the trust Speaker McClinton has placed in me to serve as chair of the Insurance Committee,” Warren said. “With my background, I’m prepared to guide thoughtful, forward-thinking discussions on insurance policy, ensuring that all Pennsylvanians have access to affordable, reliable and high-quality insurance options. I look forward to working with all of my colleagues and with Governor Josh Shapiro and Insurance Commissioner Michael Humphreys to strengthen protections and drive meaningful reforms."

Warren previously served as the chairman of the House Human Services Committee and as vice chair of the House Insurance Committee. He also has served on the House Transportation, Commerce, Judiciary, Environmental Resources and Energy, Local Government and Government Oversight Committees.

Warren represents the 31st Legislative District in Bucks County, comprised of Lower Makefield, Newtown Borough, Newtown Township, Upper Makefield and Yardley.
