Centre Avenue Closes For Utility Work In Newtown Borough
During construction, a one-block section of Centre Avenue will be closed during the day while crews upgrade a water main.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — A section of Centre Avenue is scheduled to close on June 23 for a three-week daytime construction project.
The Newtown Artesian Water Company will perform utility construction between the Newtown Creek and South State Street. Once the work begins, it will take about three weeks to complete.
During construction, the one-block section of Centre Avenue between State Street and Sycamore Street will be closed to traffic in both directions between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from June 23 to July 11.

Traffic will be detoured using Sycamore Street, Washington Avenue, and State Street.
Local access will be maintained. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Newtown Artesian Water Company will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
