Community Day To Spotlight Wrightstown Township

The weekend will include a yard sale, farmers market, pretzels with the police and an open house at the Octagonal School.

WRIGHTSTOWN, PA — Community Day is coming up this weekend in Wrighstown Township.

The event kicks off on Saturday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Middletown Grange Fairgrounds on Penns Park Road. The day will be highlighted by a yard sale and Goodwill will be there to collect donations, including electronic waste.

In addition, the Wrightstown Farmers Market will be holding its weekly farmers market from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Newtown Township Police Department will be there handing out pretzels. And the Village Library of Wrightstown and Wrightstown Historical Commission also will be there.

Community Day continues on Sunday, May 18 with an open house at the Octagonal School from 1 to 5 p.m. The Wrightstown Historical Commission invites the public to take a look inside and learn more about the historic schoolhouse, which dates to the early 1800s. It is located at Swamp Road and Second Street Pike (Route 232). The entrance is located on Second Street Pike at the Swamp Road intersection and is the only octagonal schoolhouse built in Bucks County between 1773 and 1851 still standing.

All events are free and open the public.
