NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Two teams were ejected from a softball tournament last weekend at a Newtown Township park after parents were tailgating and drinking, police said.
Police officers from Newtown Township said they were dispatched to Helen Randle Park three times on July 5 for reports of disorderly conduct and drinking in the park, which is prohibited.
The first report was received at 1:15 p.m. after a caller notified police that some parents from a tournament were tailgating and drinking in the parking lot. An officer responded and spoke to the caller, but the parents suspected of drinking had left prior to police arrival.
