Council Rock Releases School Reopening Plan Timeline
The Council Rock School District is simultaneously planning for an in-person opening of school in the fall, as well as a cyber option.

NEWTOWN, PA — The Council Rock School District is simultaneously planning for an in-person opening of school in the fall, as well as a cyber option for students who are not comfortable with returning to the classroom, the administration said in a letter to the school community on Wednesday.
School buildings have been closed since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Gov. Tom Wolf has released guidance for schools to reopen during the pandemic. Part of that guidance mandates that schools have a safety plan in place that must be approved by the school board.
The district is currently conducting a survey for community input, and has created a Reopening Task Force with six committees.

"These groups are working through the complexities of educating our nearly 11,000 students in a sustained Covid-19 environment," the letter to families said. The task force will address plans for athletics and marching band.
