Cpl. Keegan Retires After 27 Years With Newtown Twp. Police Force

Throughout his career, he received several lifesaving commendations and countless letters of appreciation and recognition.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — After more than 27 years of protecting and serving Newtown Township, Cpl. Timothy Keegan retired on Dec. 31.

Before joining Newtown Township, Keegan worked as a park ranger. He was hired by Chief Duffy and joined the Newtown Township Police Department on October 27, 1997. In 2012, he was promoted to the rank of corporal.

Throughout his career, he received several lifesaving commendations and countless letters of appreciation and recognition from members of the community, neighboring police departments, and even the Mayor of Houston, Texas.

"He was always available to help a member of the community and let them know that they were being heard," said Chief John Hearn. "He was also always willing to share his vast knowledge of wildlife, especially birds.

"Tim Keegan was an exemplary member of this department. We thank him for his service and wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement," said Chief Hearn.
