Minor Injuries Reported In Newtown Bypass Crash

Three people were transported to St. Mary Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Newtown Township Police have released information following a crash that closed the Newtown Bypass Thursday morning.

Three people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following the crash, which happened just after 11 a.m. on the Bypass at Penns Trail.

The crash, which closed a portion of the roadway, occurred after a car turning onto the Bypass from Woodbourne Road collided with a car on the Bypass. The car traveling on the Bypass overturned as a result.

The driver was able to escape. Two people in the backseat were extricated by fire personnel and transported to St. Mary’s with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other car was also transported to St. Mary’s hospital due to chest pain, police said.
