NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported a number of incidents between Feb. 4 and Feb. 9.

Friday, Feb. 4

2 a.m. — Police stopped a black Infinity sedan for a vehicle code violation on the Newtown Bypass near Swamp Road. Officers found and seized a small amount of suspected narcotics and drug equipment. Charges are pending evidence results.

Monday, Feb. 7

11:30 a.m. — Police were dispatched to a Newtown restaurant for a reported dine-and-dash the night before. The total value lost was $42.

3:30 p.m. — Police were dispatched to TD Bank on West Road for a reported fraud in progress. Three people were arrested and charged with forgery, unauthorized use of access device, identity theft, and theft by unlawful taking. All of them were processed and arraigned without incident.

Tuesday, Feb. 8

10 p.m. — Police stopped the driver of a black Dodge Ram pick-up truck for a vehicle code violation on the Newtown Bypass near Buck Road. The driver was arrested on an active warrant out of the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office. Police found a small amount of suspected narcotics and drug equipment and seized these as evidence. Charges are pending evidence results. The driver was processed and transferred to the Sheriff’s Department without incident.

Wednesday, Feb. 9

The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail at Newtown Bypass and Lindenhurst Road. During the detail, thirteen trucks were stopped and inspected, and three were placed out of service. Eight citations and fourteen warnings were issued for violations.
