Equipment Stolen, Woman Charged With Assault: Newtown Crime Report
In other reports, township police investigate retail theft, arrest passenger on an outstanding warrant during traffic stop.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests:
February 21
- Police were dispatched to Homewood Suites on Pheasant Run around 8 a.m. for the report of an attempted theft from a vehicle. Someone broke the passenger-side window and ransacked the car. Nothing was taken, and the investigation is ongoing.
- At approximately 4:45 p.m., police were dispatched to a Wrightstown Township residence for the report of a dispute. As a result of the investigation, a woman was taken into custody and charged with simple assault.
February 22

- At approximately 6 p.m., police were dispatched to Acme Markets on West Road for the report of a retail theft not in progress. The total value of the loss was approximately $200. An investigation is ongoing.
February 25, 2025
- At approximately 6:30 a.m. police were dispatched to Pheasant Run for the report of the theft of construction equipment from a trailer. The total value of loss was approximately $1,000. The investigation is ongoing.
- At approximately 9:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Honda Odyssey for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Swamp Road. As a result of the investigation, the passenger was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department and was transferred without incident.
