Firefighters Remind Residents Open Burning Not Allowed In Newtown
With dry conditions continuing, the risk of brush fires continues throughout Bucks County.

NEWTOWN, PA —Due to the dry weather conditions, Newtown Fire Rescue is reminding residents of Newtown Borough and Newtown Township that open burning is not allowed.
Small, monitored fire pits and cooking fires, such as grills, are allowed unless done unsafely. If deemed unsafe, any open flame, including cooking fires, will be required to be extinguished.
"Our area has had multiple large brush fire incidents causing property damage and draining resources over the past several days," the firefighters reported. "Please remember that even when these conditions change the only fuels allowed are seasoned firewood. Yard debris (such as leaves) may never be used as fuel."
