Forged Checks, Suspected DUI Arrest: Newtown Township Crime Report

Police also cited a man with disorderly conduct following a disturbance on the Newtown-Yardley Road.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Between Nov. 1 and Nov. 7, police reported the following incidents and arrests:

November 2

  • At 12:05 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Ford F-150 pick-up truck for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Washington Crossing Road and Saxony Drive. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver refused to submit blood for chemical testing. Charges are pending.

  • A Newtown Township resident stopped at police headquarters around 2:35 p.m. to report a fraud involving numerous forged checks. The incident is under investigation.

November 5

  • At 7:15 p.m., police responded to the area of the 600 Block of Newtown-Yardley Road for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, a man was charged with disorderly conduct.
