NEWTOWN, PA — "Friday Nights Live," a new series of monthly cabaret-style events, is coming to Flourish Cafe of Newtown this fall.

The cafe has announced a partnership with On Demand Programs and Events to create "the perfect place to go for fine European-style food and stellar entertainment."

While the restaurant provides food and drink, On Demand, founded by Natalie Kaye, will be providing monthly entertainment, showcasing its musical talent, and presenting a diverse array of genres, including pop, jazz, rock, singer/songwriters, and more.

The partnership is a win-win for both cafe owner Madina Chilashvili, who is looking to fulfill her vision of Flourish as a food and entertainment venue, and also Kaye, who sees it as a great opportunity to showcase her performers.

"The 3,000 square foot spacious layout and ambience is ideal for creating an entertainment space for the community," said Kaye.

"Friday Nights Live" is scheduled to launch on Nov. 7 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. featuring award-winning singer/songwriter and dynamic piano player, Avi Wisnia.

"The intimate concert will pay tribute to the most famous piano-pop performers of our time," said Kaye. "With his smooth vocals and dynamic artistry, Avi interprets the catalogs from beloved icons who have made the piano sing, from Billy Joel to Stevie Wonder, Carole King to Norah Jones, Elton John to Marc Cohn."

The show will highlight both the songs and the stories behind the songs, giving the audience a new appreciation for the monumental piano classics that have become the soundtrack of our lives, said Kaye.

Tickets are $25. Call 267-983-7821 to make reservations.

The next event on Dec. 5 will celebrate the holiday season with a cabaret-style performance of “Christmastime is Here” featuring Maggie Griffin-Smith. The festive event will feature upbeat classics such as “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” and "Run Rudolf, Run.” Plus, Maggie will perform Christmas hymns to warm the heart and spirit.

The Flourish Café, which opened in February at the Village at Newtown Shopping Center, serves a diverse array of food spanning breakfast, lunch and dinner. Flourish emphasizes fresh food made from scratch, influenced by Eastern European and European traditions.
