NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Conditional use hearings for a 45-unit Toll Brothers development in Newtown Township are complete, and a decision on the controversial project is expected in August.

The Newtown Township Supervisors are expected to vote on the proposal during a meeting on Aug. 26, township officials confirmed.

Toll Brothers is seeking approval for the residential development on a 152-acre parcel at Rt. 413 and Twining Bridge Road.

Conditional use approval is required because Toll is proposing to use a cluster option when configuring the development. The application previously included an onsite wastewater treatment facility but the board has since approved a revised Sewage Facilities Plan that will allow it to connect to the public sewer system.

Last year, an informal proposal from Toll Brothers to construct more than 170 residential units on the same property was overwhelmingly opposed by township residents.
