NEWTOWN, PA — Jules Thin Crust and its sister restaurant, Lovebird, are doing their part to help ease the burden of the coronavirus shut down on local residents.

Jules, which operates a pizza restaurant on Sycamore Street in Newtown, and Lovebird, a chicken restaurant with a store in Doylestown, will feed a family in need each night.

The restaurants are both owned by John Ordway, who is planning to open a Lovebird shop on Sycamore Street in the near future.

The program extends across the chains' locations — which also includes Jules shops in Doylestown, Ardmore, North Wales, and beyond — as well as a second Lovebird shop in Bryn Mawr.

"Each location will be offering one meal per day for struggling families. We hope to be able to provide for everyone, though we may have to stagger the meals based on days," Ordway said.

The program will extend through the duration of the stay-at-home orders implemented to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

If you would like to nominate a family who is deserving of a free meal, visit the nomination page on Jules' website or the Lovebird website.

"We have made a commitment at Jules and our sister storet to feed, completely free of charge, one family each night from each of our locations through the duration of Stay-at-Home. Do you know of someone who has been hit hard by Covid? We are asking that you please nominate a family you know who needs a little extra help right now. We're all in this together, and we'll get through it together," the chain said via Facebook.

This isn't the first time the chain has stepped up to help during a crisis. During the 2019 federal shut down, Jules offered free meals to government workers who were unpaid due to the impasse.
