Upper Makefield Man Found Monday Afternoon: Police

A missing man was found Monday afternoon, about 24 hours after he was last seen at his Heritage Hills Community residence, police said.

UPPER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A missing man who was last seen Sunday was found by a search team Monday afternoon, according to the Upper Makefield Township Police Department.

A civilian search team found Michael Amoroso, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, in the woods surrounding his residence at the Heritage Hills Community in Washington Crossing, police said in a Facebook post.

Amoroso was dehydrated after spending about 24 hours outside, but he is in stable condition, according to the post. He was being evaluated Monday afternoon at St. Mary Medical Center, where he was reunited with his family, police said.

The Upper Makefield Township Police Department and the Upper Makefield Fire Company conducted a search Sunday evening for Amoroso, with the search continuing on Monday with help from residents.

"We would like to thank all of you for all your support, concern and willingness to help! We are forever grateful!!" Upper Makefield Township police wrote on Facebook.
