MOD Pizza Planning Mid-February Opening In Newtown

NEWTOWN, PA — MOD Pizza is planning to open its Newtown restaurant in mid-February, sources with the Village at Newtown Shopping Center tell Patch.

Maria Pace, the shopping center's marketing director, said she expects the fast-casual eatery will open in the middle of next month. It will be located in a 2,800-square-foot space in the new building under construction at the shopping center.

The chain, which serves artisan-style pizzas and salads, says its pizzas are "individually sized, made on demand, and ready in just minutes."

Customers can tailor their dining experience by creating their pizza with one of 30 toppings. Pizzas are served in both 11-inch and 6-inch pies. In addition to pizza and salads, some sides are on the menu, including garlic bread and cinnamon strips. If you have a sweet tooth, the menu includes milkshakes.

The Seattle-based chain, which has more than 400 locations, is now hiring for its local restaurant, according to a post on the Newtown Patch.

"As a MOD Pizza Squad Member you directly contribute to the success of the MOD community by presenting the MOD Pizza experience to all individuals who choose to visit our stores. The position is responsible for providing people with super fast service, a memorable experience, amazing pizzas and salads, and a cool environment," the post says. Applicants can apply online. Other upcoming additions to the shopping center include The Lash Lounge, Adorn Me, and Playa Bowls. The Lash Lounge and Adorn Me will replace what was previously Serenity Nails in the space near Saladworks.

Playa Bowls is scheduled to open Jan. 25. Giveaways are planned for the first 50 people in line.
