NAC Signs On As Grand Sponsor Of Newtown Holiday Parade
Club owner Jim Worthington sets ambitious goal of raising $100,000 toward making the event the best small town parade in the nation.

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Athletic Club will be the grand sponsor of this year's Newtown Holiday Parade and will be making a $25,000 donation toward the event, which is organized by the Newtown Business Association.
NAC owner Jim Worthington made the announcement in a Facebook posting decked out in a Santa suit and holding his infant daughter, Loretta Grace, in his arms. Loretta was born on Christmas Day.
"We are going to make this parade the best small town parade in America. That's the goal," said Worthington. "And we're going to raise a lot of money so we can get as many participants as possible including celebrities and entertainers."

This year's parade, organized by the Newtown Business Association, is scheduled to step off at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. The parade forms in the parking lot of the Stocking Works on South State Street, marches north on State Street through the heart of Newtown Borough before crossing into Newtown Township on Washington Avenue and then turning north on Sycamore Street to Durham Road where it will end.

Anyone who would like to be a part of the parade, including community groups, youth groups, organizations, bands, and others are asked to register with the parade. Parade sponsorships, ranging from $500 to $10,000 are also being sought.

"We need a lot of money so we can get a lot of great acts, entertainment, music and Mummers and all that good stuff," said Worthington who has set an ambitious goal of raising in excess of $100,000 through business and individual sponsorships.
"We already have our first sponsor - Dan McClosky of ReMax Properties - who has committed $5000," said Worthington. "Now we're up to $30,000.
"Today is May 21 so we have a lot of time to get ready, but we could really use your support as we make this the greatest small town parade in America," said Worthington. "We’re honored to spearhead this cherished community tradition this season that brings joy, togetherness, and holiday spirit to the heart of Newtown."
