Navy Admiral, Warrington Native To Address Bucks Community

Rear Admiral Margaret Grun Kibben recently became the first female chaplain appointed to Congress.

NEWTOWN, PA — A U.S. Presbyterian minister and the chaplain of the U.S. House of Representatives will host a discussion as part of a Women's History Month event hosted by the Bucks County Community College Lower Campus.

Margaret Grun Kibben, a former admiral in the U.S. Navy and a Bucks County native, will speak to the college community at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 24.

Kibben was most notably the first woman appointed to be a chaplain in the U.S. House by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Dec. 31, 2020.

The Warrington native entered active duty in the Navy in 1986 and went on to obtain degrees from Goucher College, Princeton Theological Seminary and the Naval War College. She was a senior fellow at the U.S. Institute of Peace.
