Newtown Library 5K Is Oct. 5

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Library's 13th annual Library 5k Run/Walk will be held on Oct. 5. The event coincides with Newtown Market Day.

Registration tables will open at 8 a.m. A yoga warm-up will start at 8:45 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. The race route goes through Newtown Borough and ends outside of the library, where the start of the Market Day booths and festivities will be located.

Registration is $25 per individual participant, $20 individually for groups for four or more and $30 for day of individual sign-ups. Register online by visiting the Library website or register in person at the library, 114 East Centre Avenue, Newtown.

The first 100 participants will receive T-shirts. Awards will be given to the top male and female of each respective age category.

This year, Market Day will feature the tradition of a book sale at the library, live music, food, children’s events, hayrides, and games in addition to the high-quality crafters, colonial-era demonstrations and artists displaying a wide variety of interesting crafts, from spinning, quilting, rug hooking, fine arts, jewelry making, photography and blacksmithing.
