Newtown Memorial Day Parade Canceled Due To Coronavirus

NEWTOWN, PA — The 2020 Newtown Memorial Day parade has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Morell Smith Post 440, which each year organizes the parade throughout Newtown Borough, announced that the parade will not happen this year. Also, plans for the post's 100 anniversary are also canceled.

"Check on your family, your friends, your neighbors and your brothers and sisters — often," the post said on its website in announcing the cancelations.

The annual Memorial Day parade in Doylestown has also been canceled due to the outbreak.
