Newtown Republican Announces State Senate Candidacy In 10th District
Matthew McCullough derided "lackluster liberal leadership" in announcing his campaign for the seat currently held by Steve Santarsiero.

NEWTOWN, PA — A Bucks County Republican has announced his bid for the seat currently held by Steve Santarsiero representing District 10 in the Pennsylvania State Senate. District 10 covers a large swath of Bucks County.
Matthew McCullough is a businessman living in Newtown with his wife and two children, both of whom attended the Council Rock School District. In announcing his candidacy, he said his campaign is motivated by personal investment in his homeland.
“A love of America starts in your own backyard," he said. "I love my community and my neighbors. I appreciate the intersection of rich history and contemporary cultural vibrancy that promises an abundant future."

McCullough believes New York and Philadelphia are struggling under "lackluster liberal leadership," according to a news release. He believes he would be a strong representative for Bucks County.
"This isn’t time for make believe: it’s time to make change to ensure that our representation in Harrisburg aligns with our beliefs and values,” he said.

McCullough's campaign will focus on "education, budgeting and finance, and business relationships that fuel economic development in Bucks County."
He also said he supports the second amendment without restrictions, as well as "an agenda for keeping our community safe from violence and crime."
Trained as an advanced practice nurse specializing in anesthesia, the healthcare system is one of McCullough's knowledge bases, and "the impending shortage of qualified providers" is also a priority of his campaign.
He currently serves as Chief Compliance Officer for UltraCare Solutions in Fort Washington. He received his BS in Nursing from West Chester University, a diploma in Nurse Anesthesiology from Nazareth Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia, and an MS in Nurse Anesthesiology from St. Joseph’s University.
