Newtown Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run Returns: See Route
All participants in the celebratory St. Patrick's Day race on March 12 will receive a commemorative shirt and a bottle-opener medal.
NEWTOWN, PA — Runners will hit the streets of historic Newtown for the Shamrock Shuffle 5K on March 12, celebrating St. Patrick's Day.
The race costs $55 for entry and ends with an afterparty at the Temperance House, where runners will get their choice of a complimentary mimosa or green bear. Runners will also receive a commemorative t-shirt and a finisher medal that doubles as a bottle-opener.
The event's official charity partner is A Love for Life, a Philadelphia-based organization dedicated to raising funds for pancreatic cancer research.

Registration and the race's start/finish line are located at Newtown Borough Hall at 23 North State St.
The race will start at 9 a.m., but the Newtown Borough Police Department advised that road closures will began at 8:30 a.m.

"If you live on the 5K Run route, please consider alternate routes and allow extra time for traveling," police wrote. "Local businesses will be open for business and the Police Department will assist as much as possible to help with traveling in Newtown."
There will be no parking on North State Street between Washington Avenue and Greene Street beginning at 6 a.m. for event setup. For those attending the event, parking is available at the Stocking Works at 311 South State St and the parking lot across from Old Saint Andrews Church on South Sycamore Street.
