NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Board of Supervisors honored a retiring community member with a plaque for his years of service on Wednesday evening.

"Allen Fidler, a lifelong resident, has guided Newtown Township through many changes as we have grown from a farming village to a bustling suburb," the supervisors said in a prepared statement.

Fidler is a former Township Supervisor and member of the Capital Planning Committee, the Joint Municipal Sewer Authority, and the Joint Downtown Newtown Corporation. He is currently chairman of the Planning Commission.
