Newtown Theatre Hosting Two Concerts

Live music returns to the historic Newtown Theatre this week.

NEWTOWN, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will host two acoustic concerts in the months of November and December.

The concerts will take place Friday, Nov. 20 and Friday, Dec. 4, both at 8 p.m. Attendance is limited to 55 people to adhere to Pennsylvania regulations on crowd sizes.

Chelsea Mitchell, singer-songwriter and leader of local pop/folk band Dirty Dollhouse, will perform at the November concert along with Matt Dorsey, a Tennessee native who will play a mix of original music and cover songs.

Performing in December is Brian Dale Allen Strouse, former frontman for the Philadelphia-based band The Lawsuits, and Thérèse, a singer-songwriter based in New Hope.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door and only 55 will be sold.

To ensure proper social distancing, every other row will be blocked off, and guests from different groups will be asked to sit at least six feet apart. The balcony will be open.

The Newtown Theatre is located at 120 N. State Street in Newtown Borough.
