Newtown Theatre To Screen 'The Jerk'

NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown Theatre will screen Steve Martin's film debut, the 1979 movie "The Jerk" this Friday, Sept. 27. The movie starts at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $10; $5 for theatre members.

The film follows Navin Johnson, a white adopted son of black sharecroppers who leaves his family to experience life in the big city where his naivety is both his best friend and worst enemy. The movie also features Bernadette Peters as his love interest.

The theatre is located at 120 N. State Street in Newtown Borough.
