PA Reports Fewest New Coronavirus Cases In 13 Days
The total of new coronavirus cases reported in Pennsylvania Tuesday is the lowest single-day increase since April 1.
HARRISBURG, PA — Pennsylvania on Tuesday reported its lowest single-day increase in new coronavirus cases in 13 days. There were 1,146 additional positive cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 25,345.
Tuesday's total is the lowest increase since April 1, when 962 cases were reported. The statewide stay-at-home order was instituted on April 1, following regional orders since mid-March.
Sadly, 60 new deaths were reported Tuesday, bringing the statewide death toll to 584.

"The curve has been flattened significantly," State Health Secretary Rachel Levine said during a news conference Tuesday.

However, she has asked residents to not become "complacent" and rather continue to adhere to social distancing measures. She said the reopening will come "when the time is right" on a regional basis.
On Monday, Gov. Tom Wolf presented a three-phase plan for fighting the coronavirus in Pennsylvania.
During a public address, he offered a broad outline of what lies ahead as the state moves from the thick of the crisis onto recovery and a "new normal." He did not offer a timeframe or an estimate of the duration of each stage.
