Pair Used Counterfeit Money At Newtown McCaffrey's: Police

Police in Newtown are trying to identify the two men who they say used counterfeit money at McCaffrey's and another local business.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Newtown Township are trying to identify two men they say used counterfeit money at the local McCaffrey's supermarket.

According to police, just before 7 p.m. on Saturday, two men used a $100 bill to make a purchase at McCaffrey's on Eagle Road in Newtown.

The bill was later found to be counterfeit, police said.

Another Newtown retailer also reported that the same men had attempted to use a counterfeit bill there that day but was stopped by store employees.

Authorities are asking anyone who can identify the men to submit an online tip here.
