Part-Time Police Officer Joins The Force In Newtown Borough

The Bucks County native earned his degree in criminal justice from the Pennsylvania State Unversity at Altoona.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Pipersville resident Dylan Maddux was sworn in as Newtown Borough's newest part-time police officer during a brief ceremony on Wednesday at the Newtown Borough Hall.

Mayor John Burke administered the oath to Maddux as Devin Maddux held the Bible for his brother. Their father, Bob Maddux, also attended the event.

At its December meeting, the Newtown Borough Council voted unanimously hire Maddux as a part-time non-Civil Service police officer.

Maddux, of Pipersville, is a graduate of Palisades High School and a 2023 graduate of the Altoona campus of the Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. degree in criminal justice and a minor in sociology.

Following graduation from Penn State, Maddux attended the Montgomery County Municipal Police Academy, graduating this year.
