PA's Coronavirus Death Toll Surpasses 4,500
A total of 4,505 COVID-19 deaths have now occurred in Pennsylvania, with 3,086 of them in nursing homes.
HARRISBURG, PA — There were 822 additional positive cases of COVID-19 reported Monday in Pennsylvania, bringing the statewide total to 63,056. The state's death toll also increased by 87 on Monday. A total of 4,505 COVID-19 deaths have now occurred statewide, with 3,086 have occurring in nursing or personal care facilities.
There have been 13,626 resident cases of coronavirus in nursing and personal care homes. There have also been 2,111 cases among employees, for a total of 15,737 cases at 561 facilities.
The majority of cases — 40,722 — have occurred in the Southeast region of the state. The counties in that region remain under the "red" phase of coronavirus mitigation measures.

The Northeast region has had 12,064 positive cases.
Of the positive cases, 34,542 have been in females and 27,803 in males. There have been 708 cases where the gender was not reported.
