NEWTOWN, PA — MaGerk’s Pub & Grill has opened its doors at the Summit Square Shopping Center just off of the Newtown Bypass in Middletown Township.

The pub, known for serving “the best cheesesteak outside of Philadelphia,” is located inside a 6,000-square-foot space at the far end of the shopping center at the site of the former Manny Browns Bar and Grill.

This is the pub and grill’s first location in Bucks County and its fourth in Pennsylvania. MaGerk’s also has locations in Horsham, Fort Washington and Lionville in Pennsylvania, BelAir and Baltimore, Maryland, and at Elon University in North Carolina.

The Philly-inspired restaurant is known for its signature cheesesteak sandwiches, which are served on bakery-fresh rolls with a crusty outside and a soft center.

“No matter which location you visit, you can feel the Philadelphia brotherly love in the cheesesteaks, atmosphere, and pride in fresh homemade ingredients and menu items,” says the pub’s website.

In addition to its signature cheesesteak sandwiches, Jumbo Crab Pretzels, and Famous Tempura Pickles, the pub serves mouthwatering appetizers, soups and salads, fries and rings, nachos, wings, entrees, sandwiches and burgers, and MaGerk’s famous Mac-N-Cheese (your choice of loaded, Buffalo or short rib).

Established in 2000 by John and Paul Dolaway, the first MaGerk’s Pub opened its doors at the corner of Charles Street and Cross Street in Baltimore’s Federal Hill neighborhood. It has grown from there.

The pub and eatery gets its name from John Dolaways' three daughters. He took the first initials from their first and middle names and arranged them to get MaGerk(s).

One unique touch at every MaGerk’s location is the display of black-and-white photos, some submitted by the community, that celebrate the people and moments that make each spot special. From a Super Bowl win to a hometown team celebration — these images capture the local spirit. Next time you visit, take a look - you might spot a familiar face or a favorite memory.
