Pineville Tavern's New Dining Destination 'The Garden' Is Complete: Take A Look

Just before Pineville Tavern's 280th birthday, its new 80-seat greenhouse called "The Garden" is taking outdoor dining to a new level.

PINEVILLE, PA — The Pineville Tavern, a historic restaurant and current favorite soon to celebrate its 280th birthday, has just completed a new "dining destination" to replace the tented outdoor dining area erected during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Saying "a video is worth a thousand words," the restaurant created a brief film introducing The Garden, its "breathtaking" just-completed greenhouse.

The Garden took two years to complete, according to a news release. It was designed by owner Andrew Abruzzese and renowned designer Renny Reynolds of Hortulus Farm Garden & Nursery.

The space is just under 2,000 square feet and seats 80 guests, according to the video.

With removable glass walls and doors, four synchronized vents that open when the top of the greenhouse reaches 80 degrees, and two heaters which regulate the temperature to 50 degrees at night and 70 degrees during the day, the greenhouse is optimized to be an ideal outdoor dining spot.

And it wouldn't be a greenhouse without beautiful plants: The Garden boasts eight giant hanging staghorn ferns, four 12-foot-tall banana trees, huge common ferns adorning the space, topiary-style Ligustrum and cast-iron plants, baskets of begonias, a row of Holly trees, and rose bushes.

The space's outdoor gates were designed by Broadway and Hollywood scenic artist Vanessa Fenton. Other cosmetic designs included furniture, decorations, and marble countertop ($25,000) antique French doors with 150-year-old stained glass transom ($15,000), and $10,000 chandeliers wrapped in grapevine.

The project cost $300,000 in total. It also included a $15,000 new drainage water system, $30,000 artificial turf, $20,000 track lighting, and $15,000 gas heaters and plumbing.

The Pineville Tavern, located at 1098 Durham Road in Pineville, PA, is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Read more about the Pineville Tavern's new menu here, and learn more online or by calling (215) 598-3890.
