Police Investigate Domestic Disturbance, Home Burglary In Newtown Twp.

In other reports, police arrested a driver on suspicion of DUI following a two-car crash and investigated a theft in Wrightstown.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between June 27 and July 2:

June 27

  • At approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to a Newtown Township home for the report of a burglary. The investigation is ongoing.

  • At approximately 4:35 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Ford Focus for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of Buck Road and Mill Pond Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
  • Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence shortly before 11 a.m. for the report of a domestic disturbance. As a result of the investigation, a man was taken into custody without incident for violating a protection from abuse court order.
  • At approximately 10:15 p.m., police responded to the area of South Eagle Road and Swamp Road for the report of a roadside disturbance. As a result of the investigation, two juveniles were issued disorderly conduct citations.

June 30

  • At approximately 9:30 a.m., police responded to the area of Second Street Pike and Bennett Lane in Wrightstown Township for the report of a theft. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

July 2

  • At approximately 8 p.m., police responded to the area of the Chick-fil-a on West Road for the report of a two-vehicle traffic accident. Upon speaking with one of the drivers, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The driver was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
