NEWTOWN, PA — On April 29, Jenna Immordino's life changed forever.

The 33-year-old mother of a young son was involved in a serious two-car crash on the Newtown Bypass. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and doctors at the time gave her a five percent chance of survival.

She has defied the odds, but it will be a long road to recovery. She needs around-the-clock care and daily therapy, according to her loved ones.

Her family is documenting her recovery on the Jenna's Journey Facebook page, which celebrates milestones like her returning home in August, nearly four months after the crash.

To help cover the mounting cost of her medical care and recovery expenses, her friends and family have launched an online fundraiser via GoFundMe and are planning a benefit next month at La Stalla.

The event, Vino e Vermicelli, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. The evening will include a buffet-style dinner with appetizers and music. There will be a 50/50 raffle as well as a silent auction. All proceeds will go to help Immordino's medical and therapy needs.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and cost $40 for adults and $20 for kids. Tickets can be purchased online here. La Stalla is located at 18 Swamp Road, Newtown.

"We NEED to get her strong enough to participate in an outpatient therapy program to continue learning to talk, walk and live her best life," the GoFundMe page says.

Those who can't make it to the fundraiser can support her recovery directly through GoFundMe.

As of Tuesday afternoon, $1,000 has been raised of the page's $25,000 goal.
