Thursday, Dec. 23

12 p.m. — A Newtown Township business contacted police to report theft of services. The value of loss was $1,700, and the investigation is ongoing.

1 a.m. — Police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a maroon Kia Optima for a vehicle code violation on the Newtown Bypass in the area of Durham Road. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics were discovered in the vehicle and seized as evidence. Charges are pending evidence results.
Monday, Dec. 27
10 a.m. — Someone called police on a "suspicious person" in Wrightstown Township. Police found and identified the subject, and as a result of the investigation, the person in question was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing, breaking into structure, entering structure, fleeing or attempting to elude officers, and falsification to authorities. The person was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Douple with bail set at 10 percent of $15,000.
2:15 p.m. — Police received a report that four catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles parked at a Wrightstown Township business. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Wednesday, Dec. 29
The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of Campus Drive and the Newtown Bypass. The unit is made up of township and borough officers and the Upper Makefield Township Police Department. During the detail, eight trucks were stopped and inspected. One citation and eight warnings were issued for violations that were found.
Thursday, Dec. 30
3 a.m. — Police stopped the driver of a red Volvo for a vehicle code violation on Richboro Road near West Hanover Street. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
7:30 a.m. — Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a motor vehicle theft. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
9:30 p.m. — Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a man attempting to get into someone's back door. Upon arrival, police made contact with the man. He was charged after investigation with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass.
Friday, Dec. 31
3:15 a.m. — Police stopped the driver of a silver Chevrolet for a vehicle code violation on Winchester Lane in the area of West Field Drive. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
Saturday, Jan. 1
While on routine patrol in the area of Sycamore Street, an officer overheard commotion outside of the Green Parrot. As a result of the investigation, one person was cited with disorderly conduct.
Monday, Jan. 3
1:45 pm — Police received a report of catalytic converter theft from a car that was parked outside of a Wrightstown Township business. The investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday, Jan. 5
12 a.m — Police stopped the driver of a black Subaru Legacy for a vehicle code violation on the Newtown Bypass in the area of North Sycamore Street. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
9 a.m. — Police received a report of a stolen solar panel in Newtown Township. The total value of loss was $150.
