Tyler Park Remains Closed As Search Continues For Missing Ranger
The 38-year-old park resource ranger was in a kayak late Friday morning when it capsized in the swollen Neshaminy Creek.

NEWTOWN, PA — Tyler State Park will remain closed on Sunday as the search for a missing park resource ranger in the rain swollen Neshaminy Creek continues into a third day.
The search and rescue effort turned to search and recovery late Friday afternoon after the 38-year-old man from Delaware County ended up in the creek when his kayak capsized around noon. He was putting out a buoy when the accident happened, according to reports.
Witnesses who saw the man struggling in the rain swollen creek called 9-1-1 just after noon on Friday, which prompted a huge response from Bucks County first responders.

Since then, emergency crews using boats and rigging have been searching exhaustively for the man above the waters while county dive teams have been searching under water. State Police helicopters also hovered overhead scouring the creek from above.
Among the crews assisting at the scene are Newtown Fire Rescue, Lingohocken Fire Company, Bucks County Special Operations Dive Team, Northampton Township Fire Department, New Hope-Eagle Fire Company, Newtown Ambulance Squad and the Upper Makefield Fire Company.

Also on the scene are members of the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania State Park Rangers, the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Pennsylvania State Police Aviation, and Pennsylvania State Maritime Unit.
The Pennsylvania State Police at Dublin is leading the investigation into the incident.
On Friday and Saturday, several state lawmakers posted thoughts and prayers on their social media as the search continued.
“I was heartbroken to learn of an incident involving a park employee at Tyler State Park. It occurred around noon in Neshaminy Creek, and the park will remain closed until further notice as the investigation continues," posted State Rep. Kristin Marcell, whose district includes part of the park.
“My thoughts are with the employee’s family, loved ones, and fellow park staff during this difficult time. I am deeply grateful to the first responders and emergency personnel for their swift response and continued efforts on the scene.”
State Senator Frank Farry, who also serves as chief of the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, asked everyone to keep those affected in their prayers.
“Our thoughts are with the employee’s family and all fellow rangers and park staff. Thank you to our first responders for their swift action and tireless efforts as they continue their search,” wrote Farry on Facebook.
