Upper Makefield Fire Company Sends Tanker To New Jersey Wildfire

Bucks County firefighters called in to assist with a massive 75-acre brush fire threatening 30 structures in New Jersey.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — The Upper Makefield Fire Company over the weekend assisted the New Jersey Forest Service just across the river in Hopewell Township, New Jersey, with a massive 75-acre brush fire threatening 30 structures.

Tanker 71 responded to Hopewell at 9:55 p.m. Saturday evening as part of a Task Force to assist with the large brush fire on Poor Farm Road in Hopewell Township, Mercer County.

Tanker 71's crew remained in service overnight, assisting until 5:46 a.m. Sunday morning.

Fire companies from four counties and two states responded to the scene including Upper Makefield, New Hope Eagle and the Midway Volunteer Fire Company from Bucks County.
