UPPER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Emergency management officials are recommending some Upper Makefield Township residents evacuate their homes Thursday with moderate flooding expected later in the day.
The Upper Makefield Township Police Department posted a voluntary evacuation notice Thursday afternoon on its Facebook page, warning of impending flooding from the Delaware River.

If those forecasts are correct, the flooding would cause road closures along River Road between Mt. Eyre Road and Taylorsville Road from about 9 p.m. Thursday to 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, blocking access to the area, police said.
Residents should leave if they are in the area expected to flood, Upper Makefield Township police said, encouraging residents to make sure their neighbors also receive the voluntary evacuation notice.
