Friday, Feb. 11

9:30 p.m. — Someone reported their wallet stolen from a Newtown restaurant. The total value lost was $575.
Saturday, Feb. 12

1:30 a.m. — Police stopped a black Honda Pilot for a vehicle code violation on Buck Road near Mill Pond Road. Upon contact with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol. The driver was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver refused to submit to chemical blood testing. Charges are pending.
3 a.m. — Police stopped a silver Hyundai Elantra for a vehicle code violation on the Newtown Bypass near Newtown Langhorne Road. Upon contact with the driver, the officer smelled an alcoholic beverage. The driver was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results. Police also discovered a small amount of suspected marijuana and paraphernalia and seized that as evidence.
10:30 p.m. — Police stopped the driver of a blue Dodge Dakota pick-up truck for a vehicle code violation on Township Line Road. As a result of the investigation, police found suspected narcotics and drug equipment and seized that as evidence. The driver was taken into custody on a warrant out of the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office and was additionally charged with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and false identification to law enforcement. The passenger was taken into custody and charged with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and false identification to law enforcement as well. Both were processed without incident.
Monday, Feb. 14
12:45 a.m. — Police stopped a black Hyundai for a vehicle code violation on the Newtown Bypass near Lower Silver Lake Road. Upon contact with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol. The driver was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
Wednesday, Feb. 16
9:15 a.m. — A Newtown Township resident reported a theft from a car. The car was parked at their home at the time of the theft. The total value lost was $100. Police were contacted by another resident, too, in regards to an attempted theft — but their car was locked and the person didn't take anything.
Thursday, Feb. 17
1 a.m. — Police stopped a silver Nissan Sentra for committing a vehicle code violation on the Newtown Bypass near Buck Road. Police found a small amount of suspected narcotics and drug equipment and seized those as evidence. Charges are pending evidence results.
9:45 p.m. — Police stopped a silver Jeep for a vehicle code violation on Midland Road and Durham Road. The officer smelled an alcoholic beverage upon contact with the driver, who was unable to satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
