Worthington Mill Road To Close For Bridge Dedication In Northampton

The road will be closed between Swamp Road in Wrightstown and Twining Road in Northampton Township.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Worthington Mill Road Bridge will be closed Friday morning between Swamp Road in Wrightstown Township and Twining Road in Northampton Township for a bridge dedication ceremony.

U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, U.S. Army Gen. Thomas J. Matthews, State Senator Frank Farry, State Rep. Kristin Marcell, and local officials will preside at the 10:30 a.m. ceremony that will honor the memory of Colonel Larry Rubini, who served more than 30 years in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Judge Advocate General and Civil Affairs Officer.

Rubini, who lived in Northampton and was a member of the township's Veterans Advisory Committee, played key roles in missions across the globe, including Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His distinguished career, both military and civilian, left a powerful legacy.

Parking for the ceremony will be available on the Northampton Township side of the Neshaminy Creek between Twining Road and the bridge. Parking will be authorized on both shoulders of the roadway.

On the Wrightstown Township side, Worthington Mill Road will be closed at 9 a.m. at Swamp Road to allow for the setup of the bridge dedication ceremony. No traffic and parking will be permitted on the Wrightstown side of the bridge.

Those attending the ceremony are asked to use Second Street Pike or Newtown-Richboro Road from the Northampton Township side to access the bridge.
