• This longtime Nittany Mall clothing retailer plans to close after 27 years (centredaily.com) — American Eagle is closing its longtime Nittany Mall store shortly after January 11, ending more than 25 years at the State College–area shopping center. The closure comes as the mall readies for the new Happy Valley Casino, a $120 million mini-casino project supporters hope will revitalize the property while opponents worry about gambling impacts and local resource strain.
