At Least One Reported Injured in Accident at DeKalb and Wood Streets

According to the Department of Public Safety live incident feed, police and emergency medical services responded to DeKalb and Wood streets shortly after 11:45 a.m. on Friday for a serious auto accident involving two vehicles. At least one inury was reported.

One the scene, authorities found one vehicle severely damaged and resting on the curb on Wood Street and another vehicle in the side yard of 1308 DeKalb Street.

According to authorities on the scene, apparently a vehicle traveling east on Wood Street collided with a vehicle traveling North on Dekalb and the force of the crash sent the two vehicles careening to their resting places, destroying several street signs and bushes and leaving a trail of debris along the way.

At least one unidentified person was medevaced from the scene with a reported head injury.

Wood Street is closed between DeKalb and Green streets as authorities clean up the scene.
